Concept Development

Smitten Gelateria is the first authentic Italian gelato experience in the city of Ulhasnagar. The founder, trained in Italy, returned with a vision to introduce real gelato — crafted with tradition, precision, and zero shortcuts — to a city unfamiliar with it. This wasn’t just about launching a new brand. It was about introducing a new category. Our role was to create a brand that felt international yet personal, artisanal but accessible. The name Smitten captured both the founder’s passion and the feeling we wanted every customer to walk away with.

The concept development phase centered around evoking a slice of Italy — warm, pastel tones inspired by old-town streets, paired with handcrafted elements that highlight authenticity and delight.

Mood board Creation

The mood board drew inspiration from Italian town squares, cobblestone streets, and gelato parlors. We explored a palette of soft pastels, earthy warmth, and artisanal textures that connected the brand to its European roots. A custom hand-drawn mascot, Lupo, added playfulness and recall, while photography and visual language emphasized joy and craftsmanship. By integrating elements like vintage storefront charm, handwritten typography, and fresh scoops styled with elegance, the mood board established the perfect balance between premium and approachable.

Final Result

The art direction was brought to life across every touchpoint — packaging, product labeling, signage, store interiors, staff uniforms, vehicle branding, and digital assets. Social media assets embraced vibrant photography and playful graphics, while in-store branding carried forward the warm Italian spirit.

Smitten Gelateria today feels like more than a dessert brand. It’s a slice of Italy, served locally — credible, delightful, and crafted with intention at every level.
